山内デザインプラスは生活の質を高めるための製品デザインが得意。
市場調査から開発デザインまで一貫して遂行できる。食器、日用品、文具を中心にユーザーの気持ちをつかんだ製品には、発売10年で5万個の販売実績を持つモノがある。
家具工房を営んでいた祖父の影響で、武蔵野美術短期大学工芸デザイン専攻科に進学。卒業後、カネボウ、伊勢丹のインハウスデザイナーを経て独立。（有）山内デザインプラスを設立。
2003年九州山口陶磁展審査委員長、2019年度桑沢デザイン研究所桑沢祭デザイングランプリ審査委員、昭和女子大学環境デザイン学部プロダクトデザインコース非常勤講師。
